Visit to Dawn Printing Press by Arena Gulshan-e-Hadeed:

Arena Multimedia Gulshan-e-Hadeed Center had a visit to Dawn Press on Thursday, Dec 17th 2009.

Dawn newspaper is known as Pakistan’s oldest and most widely-read English language newspaper. Dawn Group of News Paper also owns Herald, Spider and Aurora magazine.
Hadeed Arenians there were welcomed by Mr.Ramzan (the incharge of Spider Magazine Dawn).

Students were then introduced to the scanning department where the technical team of Dawn briefed the software to the students and guided them about how they were compressing and zipping different kinds of graphics and other material which were used in news paper.

In scanning department students also saw drum scanner and learned how a drum scanner is used to scan pictures at high resolution. Students also asked different questions which were answered very professionally. The presenter also showed their old machinery and briefed them that why they were not in use due to modern technology.

From the scanning department students moved to plate making section. After getting information from plate making department students finally reached the printing process of news paper.

In a nut shell the trip to Dawn press was informative for the students of Graphics suites they came to know about printing press and also cleared their concepts.
